This container train is descending from the North London Line to the West Coast Main Line, using a spur that does not feature on the passenger timetable but carries a heavy freight load. The train may well have originated at Felixstowe, a major container port, and have been heading either to the container terminal a short distance away at Stonebridge Park or to some destination further north.
