Coleraine station has two through platforms but trains running in three directions. The practice is for the Portrush train to arrive, drop its passengers and disappear into a siding. On the arrival of the down Londonderry it returns to the platform behind the former. With the introduction of the C4K units Image Portrush trains are now worked by C3K stock. Sights such as this Image are things of the past. The bay platform (left) was once used by trains on the “Derry Central” line Image
