Built of reinforced concrete, its rather elegant parabolic arch between lamps set on pedestals. It therefore disguises its modernity, cloaking it in the respectable veneer of classicism. Built 1911-15, the engineer John Webster. It carries the A49 (northbound) over the River Mersey.
