The grandest of all the monuments that are crammed into the Long family pew, that to Sir Robert Long MP who died in 1767, occupies the centre of the east wall above the fireplace. Described by Pevsner in his Wiltshire volume as 'an excellent work' - by the famous sculptor Joseph Wilton.
