On the left is (probably condemned) LMS Fowler 3F 0-6-0T No. 47273 (built 1924 as No. 7113, withdrawn 11/66); in the middle BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 No.75062 (built 6/57, withdrawn 2/68). Stoke Locomotive Depot (coded 5D) provided a large variety of motive power, having had an allocation of about 100, the 91 in 1954 comprising 6 4-6-0, 41 0-6-0, 30 2-6-4T and 14 0-6-0T, by late 1966 was one of last bastions of steam.
