An impressive church, faced in sandstone rubble. Muscular and severe, looking as if its tower has been sliced in half (in fact the steeple was never built), but also well detailed. By Joseph Hansom (senior and junior), 1869-71, the top section of tower added by Adrian Gilbert Scott, 1928. Grade I listed.
