Aka Manchester House. Very imposing warehouse built 1906-09 by I.R.E. Birkett. The height and the combination of red-brown sandstone and pink brick catch the eye. Grade II listed. Pevsner observes that the multiple companies originally occupying the self-contained units of such a building would have provided "portering, making-up, packing and despatch services". It is now shops and offices. Its close cousin, Asia House, is next door: Image
