Real Ale Pub and famous venue for live music and poetry http://www.thecumberlandarms.co.uk The present three storey brick building is the result of a major rebuild in 1899 following the collapse of the previous pub during major alterations. There are great views from the front terrace Image There is another photo here Image The Cumberland Arms was first licensed as a beer house in 1862 and converted into a pub in 1898. It wasn't granted a spirits license until 1956. The bar from the former Haymarket Hotel in Newcastle is now in the upper room.
