This photo was taken in Great Central Street and shows 101 (PBC 101G) a Leyland Atlantean bus with Eastern Coachworks 74-seater bodywork on route 15 to Henley Road. The vehicle entered service with Leicester City Transport in January 1969. Leicester Central Station can be seen to the right of the photo and was on the former Great Central Railway line. It would close down permanently later in the day the photo was taken.
