Looking south from the north end of the village. Behind the picturesque old redbrick wall stands Old House, dating from the mid-17th century. The stumpy spire of the parish church can be seen in the distance. This was, I believe, the main London-Dorking road until the mid-1930's, when the present dual-carriageway by-pass replaced it..
