This is a Church of England church. The foundation stone for the building was laid by the Bishop of Winchester in 1956, and work was completed in 1957. A new addition, the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, was consecrated in December 1958 by the Bishop of Southampton. A new church hall was built in 1966, and a house for the minister in charge was completed in 1973. An extension to the church was added in 1994.
