Whittle Dene Watercourse, Matfen Village Green

The watercourse brings water from Hallington Reservoir (via a tunnel) to Whittle Dene Reservoirs which provide a water supply for Newcastle and surroundings. The road bridge, just visible, dates from early to mid C19th and is Grade II Listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1042781
