Former merchant's house in Market Close. According to the blue plaque, built by Sir Peter Thompson, 1698-1770; merchant, antiquary, MP. Listed by English Heritage: http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=412527&mode=adv The building is now used by financial advisors.
