The Albany

The Albany public house sits on the corner of Albany Road and Broomfield Road, this being the Broomfield Road side. It opened as a Marston's pub, the Albany Hotel, in 1907 and still displays the Marston's sign. Albany Road was opened in 1898 by the Duchess of Albany, the widow of Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany who had died in 1884 and whose image is depicted on the pub sign.
