The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

Panels are fitted to empty shops to show how the properties might look if occupied. This had already been tried out in a few places in England, but the first examples in Scotland appeared in Dumbarton's High Street in 2011; one of them is shown here.
