The Böd of Gremista was the birthplace of Arthur Anderson (1792-1868), founder of P & O Ferries, and something of a Shetland hero. The böd was built in 1780 and is the only böd in Shetland which has been renovated to its historical state. It now houses the Shetland Textile Working Museum http://www.shetlandheritageassociation.com/members/central-mainland/bod-of-gremista Shetlopedia articles: (1) On the word "Böd" http://shetlopedia.com/B%C3%B6d (2) On the Böd of Gremista http://shetlopedia.com/B%C3%B6d_of_Gremista (3) On Arthur Anderson http://shetlopedia.com/Arthur_Anderson
