View northward, towards Rotherham etc.: ex-North Midland Chesterfield etc. - Rotherham etc. Midland main line. One of the countless coal trains running over this line is headed, as usual in the 1950s, by a Stanier 8F 2-8-0: this is No. 48390 (built 1945, lasting until 5/68).
