Thorne must once have been a quite attractive town with an intricate town centre plan of interlinked small open spaces. Now it feels largely unloved with many gaps where buildings have been demolished and replaced by small car parking areas. Many buildings are in poor condition. But it is not irredeemable. With sympathetic new building and restorations it could become attractive once again.
