"One of the first and best big post-war buildings in the city", was Pevsner's verdict. Built in 1958-59 as tax offices to the designs of E.H. Banks of the Ministry of Works. Eighteen storeys clad in Portland stone. On the right is one of the three much smaller blocks in the complex. See also Image It is currently occupied by the Department for Work and Pensions.
