Phase 3 of the Metrolink extension will see the line from Manchester to St Werburgh's Road (which opened in 2011) extended further, along the disused railway cutting, to Didsbury. The Withington tram station, alongside Princess Road, is under construction. It is planned that the line from St Werburgh's Road to Didsbury will be opened early in 2013 (or even late 2012).
