Taken in April 1973, this photo shows two light blue and cream buses operated by Southend Corporation Transport in High Street. The front one is 358 (WJN 358J) a Daimler Fleetline with Northern Counties 80-seater bodywork on route 7 to Rayleigh Station, whilst the one behind is 385 (GHJ 385L) a similar vehicle on route 29. The Odeon Cinema behind the two buses has since moved to Victoria Circus, a short distance away. Bus services in Southend are now operated by Arriva Southern Counties and First Essex Buses.
