Rali Ddydd Calan flynyddol ar Fynydd Garn Goch er cof am y Cymry a drechodd byddin Normanaidd ym Mrwydr Gwyr yn 1136. Dywed y croniclwyr fod 500 cant o Normaniaid wedi cael eu lladd a bu bleiddiad ac adar yn gloddesta ar eu cyrff. Roedd y frwydr yn arwyddocaol oherwydd awrweinodd hyn at ragor o wrthryfela gyda'r tywysogion brodorol yn adennill llawer iawn o'u tiroedd a gollwyd ynghynt. The annual rally at Mynydd Garn Goch to commemorate the Battle of Gower where a Welsh army defeated a Norman force on New Years Day 1136. Chroniclers estimated that approximately 500 Normans were slain. It was said that wolves, crows and birds of prey scavenged upon the corpses which littered the battlefield. The battle was significant as it sparked other rebellions which saw the Welsh princes regain large swathes of territory previously lost to the invaders
