The name of this building in Broad Street comes from the increasing cost of brass fitments and fittings being brought into Birmingham during the early part of the industrial revolution. In order to bring the costs down local brass foundries were established, including the Brass House, to manufacture parts locally. The building now houses one of the many bars and restaurants in this length of Broad Street.
