At, or near this point, on the night of 17th February 1819 a series of "Assaults and Robberies" were committed. The villains were eventually caught and sentenced to be hanged as highway robbery was a capital offence in those days. There is a walk, starting at the car park in Cally Woods, which brings you to these gates.
