View eastward, towards Water Orton and Derby/Leicester, etc.: ex- Midland Derby - Birmingham main line. Passing the rarely used Bromford Bridge Racecourse platforms near Castle Bromwich, No. 45668 'Madden' (built 12/35, withdrawn 12/63) is relegated to humble work on a Class J mineral coming in to Washwood Heath Yard. For many years now the M6 Motorway has run parallel on the left.
