Taken in April 1969, this photo shows George Street in the town centre looking towards the town hall with its clock tower in the distance. The two red and cream buses were operated by Luton Corporation Transport whilst the green and cream Bristol bus was operated by United Counties. On the 1st January 1970, LCT was sold to United Counties and the fleet was repainted in that operator's green and cream livery. Arriva the Shires & Essex and Centrebus now operates most of the bus services in the Luton area.
