On Botchergate Street, Carlisle. Once it was the last of the pubs run by the state - the Carlisle State Management scheme which saw all pubs in Carlisle nationalised from the First World War up until about 1972. Since then it has had a few independent landlords, including a spell as a Thai restaurant.
