A delightful Georgian house, built in 1786 for a wealthy merchant, John Wilkinson Denison, to the designs of William Lindley. The centre block, which is flanked by bowed wings, has five bays, the central three of which are emphasised by blind arches on the ground floor, Ionic pilasters, a pediment containing a coat of arms and swags and, finally, three urns. Grade II* listed. The house is now flats and most of its grounds a public park.
