View SE, towards Manchester Exchange/Victoria: ex-LNW Manchester - Warrington - Liverpool/Chester main line. Salford was served on this line by Ordsall Lane station, slightly to the west. The heavy 17.35 to Llandudno is double-headed, with Stanier 5MT 4-6-0 No. 45353 (built 1937, withdrawn 7/68 - one of the last) piloting BR Standard 5MT Caprotti-fitted 4-6-0 No. 73134 (built 9/56, withdrawn 1/68).
