Trent and Mersey Canal near Billinge Green, Cheshire

The canal is normal width again north between two very wide flashes, lagoons caused by (salt) mining subsidence. The sinking of the land has caused the canal to spread into the farmland. There are four such "lagoons" in this area near Billinge Green, two of them being detached from the canal.
