The Medieval Palace has views over the ancient cityof Lincoln and beyond, it was once among the most important buildings in the country. It was the administrative centre of the largest diocese in medieval England, stretching from the Humber to the Thames, its architecture reflected enormous power and wealth. The palace hosted visits by Henry VII and James I before being ransacked by troops in 1648.
