Image: © Rossographer Taken: 30 Nov 2011

The only remaining Edward VIII pillar box in Northern Ireland. Now withdrawn from service it remains on display in the foyer of Tomb Street Sorting Office in Belfast Image The box was formerly located on the Upper Lisburn Road in the city close to the junction with Ormonde Park (now replaced by a George V box I think - see Image) - a photograph available at http://www.cui.org.uk/NIPS/Images/PCards/PCards/NIPSPC17.jpg shows the box (complete with plate to reduce the aperture as a deterent to parcel bombers) in its original location. See also Image for a close up view of the notice plate. (Thanks to Royal Mail for letting me take the picture).
