View SE, towards Bolton and Manchester; ex-L&Y Manchester - Bolton - Preston main line. The 17.03 from Manchester Victoria was non-stop to Blackpool South and got to Blackpool Central at 18.05 - not bad for 52 miles. The Ivatt variant of Stanier 5MT 4-6-0 was fitted with roller-bearings; built 11/50, withdrawn 5/66.
