In its previous existence the narrow gauge Welsh Highland Railway ran behind this building which served the standard gauge former LNWR line from Caernarfon to Afon Wen. Today the restored Welsh Highland Railway occupies the former standard gauge trackbed and after years of assorted uses this building has been carefully renovated as the booking office and waiting room.
