Memorial Brass to John Disney

In this chapel lies John Disney, knight, brother of William Disney of Norton. The aforesaid John married Elizabeth, daughter of [here there is a blank space for the Christian name] Walcott of Walcott, knight, of whom he had three sons, namely Thomas, James and Anthony, and who died about the year 1556, and also [lies here] the aforesaid Thomas Disney, knight, son and heir of the aforesaid John, who married Catherine, daughter of Augustine Porter of Belton, knight, of whom he had four sons, namely Edward, John, Henry and Thomas, and who died on the 17th April 1568. And also [lies here] the aforesaid Edward Disney, knight, who married Jane, daughter of William Thorold of Harmeston, of whom he had 5 sons, namely Thomas, Henry, William, John and Richard, and the same number of daughters, namely Catherine, Jane, Mary, Ann and Elizabeth, and who died on the 7th September in the year 1595 aged 46 [* the 6 is partially obscured by a rivet head] It should be noted that the famous Walt Disney is not related to the Lincolnshire Disneys as he was adopted!
