The leader of the flock > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2707889. The breed originates from Scotland and belongs to the group of North European short-tailed sheep. Both rams and ewes have horns, rams can have a pair of spiraling horns such as the animal shown here, or a set of 4 or more horns growing rather more straight. Multi-horned individuals can carry a gene that causes split eyelids.
