Oak, Alder, Beech, Willow and other species of trees plus numerous wild plants can be seen in this ancient woodland. The brambles and undergrowth have recently been removed from this small clearing in the hope that woodland flowers may be seen here in the future. The metal pole with a triangular plate on top that can be seen in the centre of the photograph marks the route of a gas pipeline; this was laid in the late 60s early 70s when the country changed from coal gas to North Sea gas.
