In 1985 a class 105 diesel multiple unit waits for departure time with a train to Camden Road in the last few months of diesel operation. Later in the year 3rd rail electrification would be completed and the services would operate direct from Richmond to North Woolwich using class 313 electric multiple units. Built by Cravens between 1956 and 1959, the class 105's were all withdrawn from passenger service in 1988. North Woolwich station was closed in 2006 as the Docklands Light Railway provided a replacement service to the north of the station. To the right of the photo the tower blocks on Rymill Street are undergoing renovation whilst the one to the left, on Manwood Street, awaits its turn.
