Banesley Lane from which the photograph was taken descends from a junction of roads at Old Ravensworth to the small village of Lady Park which is right at the edge of the Tyneside conurbation. The valley of the River Team lies below and factories of the Team Valley Trading Estate can be seen there. The Low Fell area of Gateshead lies on the rising slope beyond.
