From the west, the A40 crosses the River Towy over Chain Bridge. The name does not describe this bridge, but is a relic of the chain bridge that stood here from 1832 to 1882. On the left is a tubular footbridge made by Sanders Pine (Tubecrafts) Ltd of Liverpool.
