A little gem of a street, remarkably intact. Probably designed by Charles Mountain sr and Thomas Riddell in 1797-1801. Continuous sill band and pedimented doorcases with steps leading up to the front doors (Image]). Grade II listed. Pevsner notes that the street, intended to connect Whitefriargate and the docks, could only be built after an Act of Parliament was passed in 1795.
