One of the arches of the Etherow Viaduct, taking the Manchester-Glossop railway line over Mottram Road at Broadbottom. The viaduct carries the Glossop to Manchester railway line which opened in 1842. To the left of the picture, the viaduct goes on to cross the valley 120 feet above the River Etherow (Image]).
