In 1850 an Ordnance Survey 1GL bolt was cut and levelled at 18.247 ft. above Ordnance Datum Liverpool (mean level of the sea at Liverpool) on the Lion Hotel, which was demolished following a runaway lorry accident in 1967. The replacement building houses the Co-op on the right of the photo. Details of the bolt are on the Bench Mark Database at http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm40205
