Viewed from near the park entrance from Nantgarw Road. Laid out as a public recreation ground in 1934, Morgan Jones Park is named after Morgan Jones MP who was imprisoned during the First World War for being a conscientious objector. He was the first conscientious objector to be elected to the UK parliament, winning the Caerphilly seat as a Labour candidate in a 1921 by-election.
