With 8 ciders and perries on draught and 30 bottled real ciders available, the pub won Gloucestershire CAMRA's Cider Pub of the Year 2008 award. There is no longer a station in Station Road. Although the railway line from Newport to Gloucester is about 350 metres to the NW, the former Newnham station is long gone. It closed in November 1964.
