On the right side of the entrance is an OS benchmark Image Chafyn Grove is a co-educational preparatory school on the edge of Salisbury, for pupils aged between 2½ and 13, and is an Incorporated Charity. It was founded as Salisbury School in 1876, endowed by Julia Chafyn Grove. In 1916, it became a preparatory school and changed its name to Chafyn Grove School. The Pre-Preparatory department opened in 1949 and the school became co-educational in 1980.
