"Unappealingly bulky, but well detailed", was Pevsner's verdict. It is faced in easily-removeable panels of vitreous enamel, deliberately chosen because the building was designed to house a huge amount of electro-communications equipment which needed to be accessible. Now occupied by BT, it was built in 1972-77 to the designs of Charles Pearson Son & Partners, one of a cluster of four towers at the east end of Westway.
