There is an excellent bus service along the B6222 from either end, Bury or Rochdale, although some buses (like this 475 destined for Heywood) do not make the through journey. This was never a through tram line, but for many years it was the No 19 bus route, jointly operated by Bury Corporation with its light green double deckers, and Rochdale Corporation with similar buses in royal blue and cream.
