The house was built in 1582 by Thomas Smythe and has a variety of owners and uses - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corsham_Court . The gardens and park were designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown and Humphry Repton. The court is open to the public - see http://www.corsham-court.co.uk/ .
