The south wall of the chancel contains this delightful monument whose inscription reads: 'To the blessed memory of Edmond Clerke Esq (whose dust awaits the great & glorious day) late a Clerke of his Majesties Privy Seale; and Clerke of his Majesties Councel of his highnes Courts of Whitehall, at Westminster whose Great-Grandfather, Grandfather, & Father were Clerks preceding him in ye said office of Privy Seale. He married Ann, daughter of James Frampton, of Buckland Ripers in ye County of Dorset Esq., he liv'd 48 yeares; left 12 children & a faire name & dyed; 1632.'
